The Inland South is known for not only their southern hospitality but along with the delicious food that they make from scratch. You have friend chicken, crawfish, jambalaya and many more things. The Inland Souths culture is very much like that of Philadelphia. In the south you have a battle of Popeyes or KFC, and just like the south, Philly has its own battle: Pats or Genos? Take a look at how the food culture can not only divide a city but also unite it.

Fried Chicken or Cheesesteaks? (CH9)
The Great Lakes and Corn Belt (CH8)
The Corn Belt has some cities that to this day are still struggling with their economies, because they are still heavily invested in manufacturing. But where some cities have thrived are those of Indianapolis, Columbus, and Pittsburgh, because they have been more involved with high-tech projects. They are also building more Universities into the city centers like Philadelphia. Philadelphia helped lead the way with Schools like Temple and Drexel, which are also very dedicated to technological advances.
Megalopolis (CH7)
Is the home of 5 major port cities one of them being PHILADELPHIA!!! This is known as one of the major ports that aligned on the Eastern coast of the United States. The 5 cities from top to bottom are:
Boston
New York
Philadelphia
Baltimore
Washington DC
These five cities pretty much are in a straight line which keep the East coast connected. It allows trade to move swiftly up and down the coast between these major cities.
Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia(CH5)
The Atlantic Periphery, while it is extremely close to Philadelphia, the weather patterns are yet still very different. The Atlantic Periphery has cool to mild summers and the winters are extremely cold and snowy. The rain level in this region is pretty consistent which is good for the deep forests. Philadelphia on the other hand has winters that are cold, but not to the degree in which the Atlantic Periphery states receive. In the summer on the other hand is very hot and the humidity is through the roof.

The Primary Sector (CH4)
When Philly was established the sector it would have fallen in was the primary sector. It was known for their development of products. "In 1960 the first paper mill established in North America was built upon the Wissahickon, near Germantown, by William Bradford."(http://www.ushistory.org/philadelphia/philadelphiafirsts.html)
The dedication of its workers to help its city with the productions of goods actually allowed them to grow so much that at one point in history it was the largest city!
William Penn The Settler (CH3)
William Penn was the founder of Philadelphia who was first on scene when he was about to settle the new land. "It was named this because he envisioned a city of religious tolerance where no one would be persecuted." He wanted to ensure that his travels would be able to help establish a place where one could be free and not have to worry about a strict British rule. To this day he is all over the city and stands a top of city hall.
Environment of Brotherly Love (CH2)
The environment of Brotherly Love is an interesting yet very unique approach anytime while in downtown Philly. You can see almost anything when your in the city, such as beautiful colleges like Drexel and Temple Universities, then one street over a section of chapter 8 housing. Everyone will speak their mind to you whether you asked or not, but will also defend any one in the street, who may be in distress. It is an interesting city but none better.
